Crystal Butterflies

 

Tears trickle down
my cheeks, plop 
into the puddle
at my feet, crown
ephemerally like
falling raindrops--
short lived crystal
butterflies with lives
so delicate, brief
and bittersweet, like
all his lost possibilities.
