My Father

My Dad was the best

Dad who ever lived,

Could build anything,

Could even do tricks.

Dad found any town,

Could name all the States,

He'd plan family trips,

Could even ice skate.

Dad would bathe us kids,

was a  Mr.Fix It,

told an awesome tale,

knew the stock market.

Dad devised great play,

supervised homework,

listened to our night prayers,

even did some housework.

Dad chose the family cars,

chose the hues for housepaint,

chose our church and school,

always worked like a saint.

Dad was quite in charge,

Mother found too late,

that Dad's views (not hers)

ruled on life, art, and faith.
